Camping is on designated pitches and can accommodate small DofE groups up to groups on large events who take over one of the fields. There are often international scouts here in the summer giving a global feel to the scouting.
Many pitches are next to or amongst the oak and pine trees but there is also plenty of open space to catch the sunshine and give room to run your own activities. Call Dave to discuss larger events and consider visiting to make your plans.
Pitches 1-5 are marked with fences whereas the field sites are open and everyone respects each others space. There are picnic tables scattered around the site which may be used. The whole site has hedgerows, wild flowers and planting giving it a real countryside feel.
You will be allocated your pitch. The main site is on loam and pegs go in easy. Occasionally in Millennium field you’ll find a stone when you’re knocking pegs in but on the whole, you’ll lose more pegs to inexperienced mallet-wielders than to hard ground!
